Here are the last few photos from the 6th grade trip! On Friday we visited Hearst Castle in San Simeon. We were quite taken at how vast the Hearst grounds are. We started out quite early in the morning to arrive for our 8 am tour. We arrived just in time, and eagerly awaited what they day had in store. We loaded a tour bus to take the class on a long, winding road to reach the castle. After stepping on to the terrace, one is instantly surrounded by the generous splendor that the Hearst Family had left for all Californians to enjoy. The generous splendor both inside and outside of the castle and guest houses, although ostentatious, were a wondrous sight to behold. One couldn't help but think of Hearst as a man who was never truly satisfied with the gifts that the Lord had blessed him with. Here is some of what we saw:

Quite a finale to our week long adventure. And so ends the 6th graders' journey through some of California's finest and most important places. Special thanks Pastor Todd and Pastor Steve for putting this all together, and to all the parents and family that made this trip possible so that the children could enjoy California in such a hands-on way.
